During this Call to Arms

During this call to arms,
This duty in an age of arms,
I cherish this moment
Of being held, deeply, in your arms.

Your quivering body holding me,
Words escaping me,
We know what tomorrow may bring,
That a bullet may just find me.

Know that if one does,
My dying memory will be in your arms,
Knowing we are one of soul.

Smile that you’ll have loved a hero.
Know that your love, here,
Smiling, gave me final comfort.

In this call to arms,
I see that you love me.
Knowing my sacrifice is not in vain.
Smiling to still your pounding heart.

Let the order be handed down

Let the order be handed down,
Let the world know
That the traitor, this terror,
Is bound to be bound and burned.

For his crimes of neglect,
For his crime of betrayal,
Friends must forget forgiveness,
Kin can’t console the killer.

Dress him in the finest garb,
Dress him as a martyred hero,
For the finest of flattery
Makes the most morose mockery.

Set a torch under his aching feet.
Set a fire in the hearts of none.
Time won’t tarnish thought
Of fiends freely forgotten.

A Porcelain Doll

A porcelain doll,
So soft in complexion.
In her confidence
I place my greatest failings.

She doesn’t know
That she is my refuge.

I prefer to listen, though,
To the silence of her
Trials and tribulations.
A peace is found here.

How could a mere man
Craft such a divinity?

Why would I place such faith
In a relic of what should have been?
How can her dark eyes
Force such a devotion?

I ask without rhetoric.
I have found an answer.

Such art must be cherished.

Be a Man!

I recognize that every breath is a fight,
Gagging on your own blood and all,
But you just gotta hold on.

You’re not done fighting yet.
Open your fuckin’ eyes!
Look at me, you pussy!
You’re not going to die in my arms.

Don’t make me tell your family
All that horseshit about
Memories being timeless
And you, now, living in them.

Be a man!
Suck it up!
Wake up.

It’s too late, though, isn’t it?
Your lips are blue, body stiff.
Please wake up,
Don’t do this to me.

Where’s the poetry in this?
There’s no beauty here.
Why do the birds keep singing,
Serenading this tragedy?

Why would you do this to me?
Why would you rest
When there’s still so much for us to do?

Is there a rhyme to this?

Is there a rhyme to this?
Falling into Theta
With the taste of Xanax in my throat?
I just need another smoke.

I don’t know what I want anymore,
I barely remember my name some days.
Still I’ll stress over the small things.

I’ll still worry about the evanescent manner of your affection,
The calories in my dinner,
The increased rate of my suicidal ideations.

Shit, did I just miss my exit?
Someday I’ll reach the shore,
Maybe drown myself in the ocean,

And embrace the cold embrace of the winter tide.

But that’s thinking too far down the road,

Right now, I’ve just got to get home
Where there’s still scotch in the bottle.

Overpowered

Overpowered by the Lips,

I lie here breathing,

staring at the ceiling,

Wishing the fan was pointed in my direction.

Overpowered by her lips,

I lie here thinking, romanticizing

Wishing she was struggling with me for the sheets.

How could she love me, though?

I’m broke on a broken computer,

And my room is a mess.

I dribbled piss on my boxers.

Embracing the safety of a bedspread tent

I sink further into the bed,

Knowing if I want change, I must effect change.

But it can wait, just a bit longer.

Let’s just lie here, only for a bit longer.

Just got a copy of the 10th anniversary edition of Myst

Not that that has any real influence on this post. However, I do look forward to playing it, seeing what all the hype was about

My Kevlar sweetheart,
My violent angel,
Let us go together,
And fuck peace.

Take my hand and watch as I do,
See the fear my name invokes,
The shaking heads,
My bloody hands.

Let us go together
Into the void of inhumanity,
Embrace your base drives,
And tear a fool’s throat open.

We say no to sacrificial guilt.
My love,
Let us walk the juxtaposition,
We’ll live as they die.

Your hands are trembling, dear.
Do not let them see your fear.
The weak feed off the excess of the strong,
Starve them with your bravery.

I’ll be here to the end.
I’ll support your stride,
And stem your blood loss.
So what if tomorrow never comes?

I have you now.
